Co-Plan
     

    Secondary level- CHS meet during Seminar or Department meetings
         HMS/WHMS meet during plan time. Becky is willing to pay another teacher to sub for you for an hour while you meet with reg ed staff on their plan time.
     
    Elementary level- Becky provides a sub to allow the SPED teacher and regular education teacher to meet to discuss any questions/concerns regarding students receiving SPED services. Some building administrators expect the regular education teacher to use their plan time and the sub covers the SPED teacher. Things to consider:
     
    Send out a questionnaire at the beginning of the year to allow teachers to indicate their preferences.
     
    Build a schedule around those preferences. Notify teachers of the schedule and tentative co-plan dates for the school year.
     
    Create a co-plan schedule to share with the reg; ed teachers, co-plan sub and the SPED teachers.

    In trying to make a schedule for Co-planning, I need some input from you. Co-plan will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, beginning with September 2nd. For those of you new to co-planning, a sub is provided to allow the regular education teacher to meet with the special education staff to talk about inclusion issues, grading, curriculum modifications, behavioral issues, etc. If you work with more than one SPED teacher, you will receive more than one of these forms. You may or may not feel the need to co-plan with each SPED teacher but you will need to fill out a form so we can document your preferences. Typically, teachers with students receiving resource room support co-plan at least once monthly with the SPED staff.
     
    Please indicate your first and second time choices. Also, please indicate whether you prefer to co-plan once or twice monthly. Please return this form to my box by August 26th and I'll get a schedule out to everyone prior to the first co-plan date.

    10:00  SPED staff/Ms. Salyer Sub covers for reg. ed. teacher in 1st grade Room 108.
